Purpose
To protect this characteristic East Jutland fjord landscape with flattened moraine coast and shallow waters. The area comprises a large shallow sea area with several sandbanks and stone reefs. In addition, the area includes coastal areas along the northern coast of the fjord and on the eastern side of the Gyllingnæs peninsula. There are a number of small islands here. At Vorsø there very large colonies of cormorants, grey heron, and rook. There are several wildlife reserves in the area. The two largest are found on Vorsø and in Lerdrup Bay. Four smaller reserves are located at Svanegrund, Møl-legrund, Hov Røn, and Søby Rev.
