Purpose
To ensure the operational security of naval facilities through the exclusion of fishing activity in sensitive coastal waters.
Regulations Summary
Restrictions
1. All forms of commercial and recreational fishing are prohibited.
2. Access is strictly restricted to military personnel.
3. Except for Turkish military aircraft, all aircraft belonging to Turkish or foreign real or legal persons are prohibited from flying within these zones or landing in the areas below them, without the permission of the General Staff.
Allowed
Turkish and foreign vessels may only take shelter in first-degree maritime military prohibited zones and in bays, coves, and harbors within these zones, displaying international signals, due to adverse weather conditions or technical malfunctions, until the weather permits sailing or the malfunction is resolved.
