Purpose

To conserve and manage the Göksu Delta—a coastal Mediterranean wetland of outstanding ecological importance characterized by its mosaic of lagoons, sandy dunes, marshes, freshwater and brackish lakes—preserving its internationally significant biodiversity (including over 300 bird species, vulnerable loggerhead and green sea turtle nesting beaches, and endemic flora), while supporting sustainable agriculture, eco‑tourism, and traditional fisheries within the boundaries of the Special Environmental Protection Area framework.

Restrictions

1. Collecting wild animals, their eggs, or their offspring is prohibited.
2. It is strictly prohibited to discharge untreated domestic or industrial wastewater under any circumstances.
3. Dumping solid waste, rubble, excavation material, or process waste sludge is prohibited. Except for activities aimed at sustaining, restoring, or improving the wetland ecosystem, dredging and the dumping of dredged sludge is prohibited.
