Purpose
This MPA was established under the Community-based Fisheries Management Program in 2002 to address two important issues threatening Fagamalo’s reef and marine resources: 1) the continued use of illegal and destructive fishing methods in the region, and 2) an increase in the number of fishing boats in the region.
