Purpose

To protect the natural environments of the southern strip of the island of Lampedusa, between the Vallone dellAcqua to the west and Cala Greca to the east. Species of extraordinary naturalistic value live here, exclusive to the island or highly localized, often at risk of extinction; the loggerhead sea turtle nests in the splendid Baia dei Conigli.
