Purpose
Areas closed to commercial salmon fishing serve to rebuild dwindling stocks. Recreational fishing opportunities for salmon in Puget Sound have declined in the past two decades. This salmon closure helps to ensure that these fishing opportunities will be restored and rebuilt for the entire Puget Sound.
