Purpose

To prevent overfishing of Pacific tunas, sharks, billfish, swordfish, and other highly migratory fish in the drift gillnet fisheries to the extent practicable and achieve optimum yield for the U.S. fisheries involved while minimizing bycatch and protected species interactions.
