Purpose

To preserve marine biodiversity and ensure the sustainability of various activities, such as recreational fishing or scuba diving.

Species of Concern: Common Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus); Striped Dolphin (Stenella coeruleoalba); Fin Whale (Balaenoptera physalus); Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus); Loggerhead Sea Turtle (Caretta caretta); Dusky Grouper (Epinephelus marginatus); Salema (Sarpa salpa); Sar (Diplodus sargus); Wrasse (Labridae spp.); Seahorse (Hippocampus spp.); Brown Meager (Sciaena umbra)

Regulations Summary

Restrictions

The following is prohibited:
1. To use any means or thing which, in particular by its noise, is likely to disturb the animals or to disturb the peace and quiet of the place, in particular to throw stones or to cause rocks to fall, with exceptions;
2. To make, by any process whatsoever, inscriptions, signs or drawings on stones, trees or any movable or immovable property;
3. To carry or light a fire outside buildings used for residential purposes, in particular to smoke;
4. To deposit, abandon or throw away, in a public or private place, with the exception of locations designated for this purpose, rubbish, waste, materials or any other object of any nature whatsoever, even if this deposit, abandonment or throwing was carried out by the person having the use of the place or with his authorization;
5. To use any artificial lighting, whatever its medium, location and duration, excluding the lighting of buildings used for residential purposes and public lighting, provided that such lighting is not likely to disturb animals and does not affect the character of the park;
6. The research and exploitation of non-licensable materials;
7. The carrying, possession or use of any weapon and its ammunition are prohibited in natural areas;
8. The use of dragging nets of the gangui type, benthic trawl or pelagic trawl, except for authorized professional fishermen;
9. The use of any electrical or hydraulic assistance mechanism for hauling fishing lines and gear on board vessels in the context of recreational maritime fishing;
10. Recreational fishing competitions;
11. Hydroelectric and offshore energy production activities;
12. The use of motorized watercraft and the practice of towed water sports and leisure activities;
13. Motorized sports competitions, in particular motorboat competitions;
14. Access of motorized boats:
a) In the En Vau cove, between the bottom of the cove and a straight line, shown in the leaflet of the main nautical regulations;
b) In the Port-Pin cove, between the bottom of the cove and a straight line, shown in the leaflet of the main nautical regulations;
15 The disembarkation and embarkation of passengers in the context of commercial or para-commercial activities, with the exception of the landing stages of ÃŽle Verte and ÃŽle d'If.
16. For the safety of swimmers and kayakers, and for tranquility in the reserve (reduction of noise, waves, etc.), speeds are limited to 5 knots in the 300 m band near the yellow buoys.
17. Boaters must reduce their speed and keep a distance of at least 100 m from Alpha flags where there are divers and snorkelers present.
18. The collection of sea urchins is prohibited from April 16 to October 31 in the Bouches-du-Rhone, even if they are consumed locally.
19. Underwater fishing for octopus is prohibited from June 1 to September 30.

Allowed

1. Certain types of works, constructions and installations may be authorized.
2. Existing craft and commercial activities that were regularly carried out on the date of publication of this decree are authorized.
