Purpose
To protect a natural reserve on Tenerife with a diverse plant community and multiple protected animal species. Natura site ES7020044 is within this site.
Species of Concern: European Herring Gull (Larus argentatus), Scopoli's Shearwater (Calonectris diomedea)
Regulations Summary
Restrictions
The following activities are prohibited:
- The capture, collection, alteration or destruction of animals (both invertebrates and vertebrates or their offspring), plants and fungi native to the Reserve, as well as parts thereof, rocks and minerals, elements of paleontological, architectural, ethnographic or any other type of cultural interest, except for management or research purposes and when authorized by the competent Administration.
- The introduction of animals, plants or fungi not native to the Reserve.
- The release into the natural environment of individuals of exotic animal species, subspecies or breeds.
- The removal of dead wood, except for reasons of pest control already declared.
- Any type of mining extraction, underground or open-air (scoria, slag, earth or others), as well as its transportation, accumulation and dumping, except for reasons of authorized management, conservation or research.
- The use of Reserve lands as a platform for takeoff or landing, except in cases of emergency, for the practice of free flight in any of its modalities (hang gliding, paragliding, etc.).
- The dumping of solid or liquid waste at any point in the Reserve.
- Hunting, except for management reasons.
Allowed
The following activities are allowed or may be authorized:
- Activities related to scientific purposes that involve intervention in the environment and are intended to be carried out provided that they do not contravene the provisions of this Plan.
- The reintroduction or repopulation of individuals belonging to species, subspecies or varieties of animals or plants native to the area.
