Purpose
The Restricted Use Subzone [SUR] corresponds to the entire surface of these two core areas, which have suffered little or no habitat alterations and present possibilities for recovery. The core areas of the Alacranes Arrecife National Park constitute the main geomorphological and biotic environments present in the reef, represented by terrestrial and marine ecosystems that maintain stable conditions, where there are populations of wild, terrestrial and aquatic flora and fauna, including species considered under some . protection category.
Species of Concern: Red mangrove, black mangrove, hawksbill turtle, leatherback turtle, loggerhead turtle, green sea turtle, elkhorn coral, staghorn coral, lobsters, groupers, frigatebird (Fregata magnifiscens), brown tern (Anous stolidus), sooty tern (Sterna fuscata)

The following activities are prohibited:
1. Recreational sport diving (free and autonomous) for sport fishing
2. Promotional fishing
3. Recreational sport fishing
4. Commercial fishing
5. Installation of tourist infrastructure.

1. Conservation of ecosystems and their elements
2. Scientific research and monitoring
3. Environmental education
4. Ecological restoration
5. Inspection and surveillance
6. Operation of the Naval Sector
7. Control and eradication of exotic flora and fauna
8. Signage for management and operation of the area
9. Installation of infrastructure for management and administration of the area
10. Observation of flora and fauna
11. Guided visits
12. Camping (Only in Isla Pérez within designated sites)
13. Sailing (Exclusively outside the barrier reef)
14. Video and photography
15. Recreational sport diving (free and autonomous) for the observation of marine flora and fauna
16. Opening of new trails (Only for research and/or area management purposes)
17. Anchoring (Only in established anchoring areas)
18. Landing (On the islands Desterrada, Muertos, and Pájaros, landing is only permitted for area management, surveillance, research, or in emergencies)
19. Transit of smaller boats
20. Transit of larger boats (Exclusively outside the barrier reef)
21. Installation of docks (Exclusively on Isla Pérez for conservation and park operation purposes).
