Purpose

To conserve an important wetland complex for waterfowl and shorebirds.

Species of Concern: harbour porpoise, harbour seal, northern goshawk, peregrine falcon, steller sea lion

Regulations Summary

Restrictions

In accordance with the Wildlife Act, the following conditions apply:
1. A regional manager may make orders prohibiting a person from:
(a) entering,
(b) cutting, picking, removing, altering, destroying or damaging vegetation in,
(c) disturbing or harassing wildlife in,
(d) releasing or abandoning an animal in, and
(e) allowing an animal to enter a wildlife management area, a critical wildlife area or a wildlife sanctuary.
2. A person commits an offence if the person:
(a) alters, destroys or damages wildlife habitat, or
(b) deposits on land or water a substance or manufactured product or by product in a manner that is harmful to (c) wildlife, or (d) wildlife habitat.
3. A person commits an offence if the person angles in the non-tidal waters of British Columbia unless the person is:
(a) the holder of: (i) an angling licence, and (ii) any other licence or permit that is required by regulation,
(b) an Indian residing in British Columbia, or
(c) exempt by regulation.
