Purpose
The reserve was formed to perform the following tasks:
1. preservation of natural complexes (landscapes);
2. conservation, restoration and reproduction of wildlife objects;
3. preservation of the habitat and migration routes of wildlife objects;
4. implementation of state environmental monitoring (state monitoring of the environment);
5. conducting scientific research;
6. environmental education and development of cognitive tourism.

Regulations Summary
Restrictions
On the territory of the reserve the following is prohibited:
1. industrial, recreational and sport fishing, with the exception of cases provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on fishing;
2. destruction of nests, burrows or other habitats of animals, collection of bird eggs and down;
3. actions leading to disturbance of wild animals;
4. exploration and extraction of minerals;
5. passage and parking of ships and other floating craft outside public waterways and places specially provided for this (except for cases related to the implementation of measures to perform tasks related to the functioning of the reserve and the Kizhi Museum-Reserve);
Allowed
On the territory of the reserve the following activities are allowed:
1. the landing of aircraft and the disembarkation of passengers from them is subject to agreement with the Institution;
2. hunting and trapping of wild animals and birds for scientific and regulatory purposes is carried out on the basis of decisions of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.
