Restrictions
Bangladesh has sovereign rights for the purpose of exploring and exploiting, conserving and managing the natural resources, whether living or non-living, of these waters. Fishing restrictions, such as bag limits, seasons, and size restrictions apply. Following is a non-exhaustive list of restrictions that apply in these waters:
- No person, including a foreign government or an international organization, may explore or exploit any natural resources whether living or non-living, carry out any search or excavation, or conduct any research;
- Damaging behaviours that cause pollution;
- Discharge of any types of pollutants or other substances that are prohibited by the Territorial Waters and Maritime Zones Act;
- Discharge of pollutants to sea without following the provisions of the Territorial Waters and Maritime Zones Act or discharging pollutants exceeding the standard;
- Causing marine pollution incidents without immediate measures to deal with accidents or other unexpected events;
- Any activity affecting directly or indirectly the marine environment in coastal areas;
- Other violations specified by the notifications in the official Gazette.

Allowed
The following activities are allowed:
1. Drill, construct, maintain, or operate any artificial island, off-shore terminal, installation or other structure or device for any purpose in the EEZ in accordance with the terms of a license or letter of authority granted by the Government;
2. Fishing by a Bangladesh citizen in accordance with the laws.
