Purpose
To protect a group of tidal marshes notable for its rich vegetation and diverse aquatic bird fauna, including species such as the eurasian spoonbill, grey heron, purple heron, and osprey.
Species of Concern: herons (Ardeidae), spoonbills (Platalea leucorodia), egrets (Egretta garzetta), storks (Ciconia ciconia), mallards (Anas platyrhynchos)
Regulations Summary
Restrictions
The following activities are prohibited:
a) The implementation of any type of management in the natural water network, except those aimed at improving the conservation of the protected area.
b) The carrying out of shellfish-fishing and/or collecting activities, as well as any other type of use.
c) Any intervention that involves alteration of the natural vegetation and/or the fauna community settled therein, except those that pursue scientific and conservation purposes.
d) Circulation and access by nautical means, except those of the Environment Agency, or those authorized by the Management of the Site for the purposes of research and control of its biotic communities.
e) The exceptions provided for in the previous sections must, in any case, be expressly authorized by the Environment Agency.
Allowed
a) Visits and educational and scientific activities will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Public Use, Research and Management plans. In any case, access to the Reserve Areas will require express authorization from the Management of the Site.
b) In all cases, the interventions and management of these areas will have to have the authorization of the Management of the Site, and will be subordinated to the purposes of conservation and improvement of their natural values.
