Restrictions
1. In terms of natural resources, abandonment, deposit, rejection, spillage are qualified as crimes. Illegal occupation at the level of natural ecosystems, scientific research without authorization are qualified as offenses. The communities are authorized to exercise their individual or collective traditional use rights, in the areas dedicated to this.
2. Concerning fishery resources:
a) It is forbidden to use fixed nets whose smallest mesh will be less than 25 mm in square and dragging nets whose smallest mesh will be less than 25 mm in square. Floating nets are not subject to any mesh size restriction. The following type of fishing gear is recommended according to the target and the area:
(i) Gillnets, commonly used in traditional western fishing, which vary between 25 mm to 40 mm mesh.
(ii) The ZDZD net (used offshore), 8-10 cm large mesh is designed to target large fish species and sharks.
(iii) JARIFA net is a specific type of gillnet used both offshore, in near shore areas and in brackish waters, mesh size between 12 and 25 cm, target: large fish, sharks, gogo, lamatra.
b) The use of poisonous substances intended to stun, weaken or kill fish is prohibited (Product prepared from a species of plant origin Euphorbia tirucali known under the name of Indian tree spurge or pencil cactus).
c) It is forbidden to exploit ovate crabs, soft crabs or crabs less than 10 cm in cephalothoracic width.
d) Fishing activities and/or the collection of fish products must be authorized in advance. Any natural or legal person wishing to fish and/or collect fishery products: lobsters, crabs, sea cucumbers, shrimps, camarons, squid, shark fin, fish, eels, can only do so with the authorization of the Ministry responsible for fisheries and fisheries resources, after consulting the Regional Directorate of Fisheries and Fisheries Resources.
e) It is forbidden to collect any fishery product without an authorization or fishmonger's card or collector's card in the collection areas of the district.
