The protection and enhancement of the natural, chemical, physical characteristics and of marine and coastal biodiversity, with particular attention to the priority habitats of hard and mobile substrate and to Posidonia oceanica, also through environmental recovery interventions; the promotion of environmental education and the dissemination of knowledge of the marine and coastal environments of the protected marine area, also through the creation of educational and informative programs; the implementation of study, monitoring and scientific research programs in the fields of natural sciences and environmental protection, in order to ensure systematic knowledge of the area; and the promotion of the sustainable development of the area, with particular regard to the enhancement of traditional activities, local cultures, eco-friendly tourism and use by socially sensitive categories.

Species of Concern: bottlenose dolphin, monk seal, octopus, shrimp, bream, mullet, snapper, amberjack, capons, morays , lobsters, mullets, sea bream, corvine, peregrine falcon, the Shag, tern, pink flamingo

The following activities are forbidden:
1. Swimming;
2. Spearfishing, professional fishing and sport fishing;
3. Boating except for patrol boats of Marine Area officials or as authorized;
4. Navigation, anchoring and mooring.

Consentito

1. Access by Managing Authority staff for maintenance, control, and by scientific personnel for authorized research activities;
2. Authorized guided scuba diving tours in restricted areas and only on approved routes, while observing high standards environmental protection;
3. Rescue and supervisory control;
4. Service activities carried out on behalf of the Managing Authority.
